Description
The Devil's Gauntlet is a one-of-a-kind 1977 Custom 80-foot Brigantine, an exact full-size replica of the Royal British Navy ship Sultana (1768) built to protect the Massachusetts coast. Constructed with Kevlar/Polymer composite hull at Pillar Point, California with extensive support from Philip & Son Shipyard (Dartmouth, England), she combines historic design with modern functionality.
The vessel features two wooden masts (Oregon White Pine) with complete sails and rigging in excellent condition. Her interior includes a full wet bar with granite countertops, main salon with U-shaped settee, five staterooms sleeping 10-14 guests, and a master with ensuite head. The galley features Force 10 propane stove/oven, full-size dual fridges/freezers, microwave, and ice makers. Two electric heads utilize ElectroScan waste treatment.
Powered by a Cummins 210HP Turbo Diesel (only 1,038 hours) with TwinDisc transmission and new dripless shaft seal (September 2025). The yacht operates as a blue water motorsailer with state-of-the-art systems: 800W solar array, 500W wind generator, Spectra 300GPD watermaker, 5000W inverter/charger, and dual shore power.
