Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago is jaw-dropping in scale: 30,000 islands and skerries stretching from the capital far into the Baltic. You could spend months exploring and never visit the same anchorage twice. The sailing is gentle—protected waters, short distances between islands, and a well-marked system of fairways and anchorages maintained by the Swedish maritime authorities.

In summer, the midnight sun means nearly continuous daylight. You can sail at 11 PM with the sun still above the horizon, casting everything in that particular Nordic gold light. The landscape is characterized by smooth granite rocks, pine and birch forests, and the clean, clear Baltic waters.

Each island has its own personality: some have small communities with guest harbors and restaurants, others are completely wild nature reserves. The Swedish outdoor culture—allemansrätten (the right to roam public land)—means you can land almost anywhere and explore freely.
