Center Console Boats

The center console is the do-everything boat of the modern market: an open deck wrapped around 360 degrees of the helm, room to fish from any angle, and enough beam and horsepower on the bigger models to handle real offshore conditions. Builders like Boston Whaler, Regulator, and Everglades have pushed the category well past its inshore-skiff roots into 40+ foot offshore boats with triple or quadruple outboards.

Because there's no fixed cabin structure to work around, center consoles are prized for their versatility — rig one for tournament fishing, another for diving and watersports, another as a fast, comfortable family day boat. Smaller models trailer easily and store cheaply; larger ones compete directly with sport fishers for serious offshore capability.
